Especially environments that drive us to peak performance: salty air, flooding, rough coasts, heavy rain, temperature fluctuations, high traffic areas and much more. We developed HIRO™ for this. Tough and for long-term use. Despite their characteristic stability and resistance, these in-ground spotlights also set standards in luminaire design. The clear design language in form and material without any frills ensures elegant and discreet integration into any architecture.

Protected to the maximum
Encased in WIBRE-typical epolished 316Ti stainless steel and topped with a robust ultra-clear safety glass provides unparalleled resistance. HIRO™ has been designed and developed to meet the highest demands with the knowledge garnered from over 70 years of designing underwater lighting. For absolute watertightness and heavy-duty use, the spotlights have IP68 and IP69 protection. In addition, the maximum standardised mechanical load rating of up to IK11 is ensured and a load of up to two tonnes is approved.

Rethinking installation
A new type of installation in the ground simplifies mounting and utilisation. The stainless steel installation housing, consisting of three parts, is highly resilient and lightweight due to its structure, yet it is also sustainable and offers sufficient space for junction boxes.
Tiny but mighty
The newly developed CapStop™ is a world first and a masterstroke. Water ingress caused by the capillary effect via the cable and the cable core is stopped 100%. Humidity from junction boxes or technical rooms can no longer penetrate the spotlight. As the luminaire is completely encapsulated, droplet formation on the inner glass of the luminaire is a thing of the past. This prevents the lighting from failing due to moisture.
Eye friendly
The black matt interior significantly reduces glare without the need for additional accessories. Glare is further reduced by mounting the LED unit low down in the housing.
Align light precisely
HIRO™ brings light exactly where it is needed. The luminaires can be precisely aligned to illuminate objects effectively and draw the focus to the essentials.
Focussed illumination
The LED unit can be swivelled by 15° to enable targeted illumination of the object. This reduces light loss and the object to be illuminated is focussed. The tilt angle of the LED unit is set according to specifications during production at the factory.
Swivelling without opening the luminaire
With a newly developed additional module, the LED unit can also be swivelled by up to 15° on site without the need to open the luminaire. To do this, simply loosen the screw connection on the luminaire housing and set the desired tilt angle using a screwdriver. Then close the screw connection again. That‘s it. The IP68 and IP69 protection ratings are retained. Another milestone in architectural lighting.
Rotate perfectly to the object
Even after installation, the spotlight can be rotated by 350° to direct the light perfectly towards the object and react to irregularities in the terrain. This ensures uniform illumination and a consistent appearance in daylight even after installation.

Clever additions make every single HIRO™ luminaire versatile and suitable for individual requirements - heroic and safe from every angle.
180° glare-free light
This innovative accessory provides glare-free illumination in front of and beside the luminaire (180°) from a distance of just one metre. This not only improves visual comfort, but also increases the safety and usability of illuminated areas. A minimal light loss of 4 % ensures that the light output is almost completely retained. Particularly suitable for installations in front of façades, walls or other vertical surfaces where targeted and comfortable lighting is required.
360° glare-free light
This special accessory ensures glare-free illumination in all directions (360°) from a distance of 1.50 metres from the luminaire. Uniform light distribution without annoying reflections or glare effects is guaranteed. With an extremely low light loss of just 1 %, the light output is fully maintained. This makes the glare louvre particularly suitable for installations with all-round access where lighting without glare effects is required - for example in public squares, pavements or open landscaped areas.
Maximum anti-slip properties
The use of an anti-slip disc is recommended or mandatory in publicly accessible areas. The optionally available anti-slip discs in the HIRO series fulfil the highest slip resistance class R13. This stands for a very high ‘static friction coefficient’ and, according to the standard, is slip-resistant up to an angle of inclination of over 35°. This also allows them to be used in water-flowing or very damp and muddy areas.
